Dear Believer,
Waiting is hard.
Especially when you've prayed, trusted, tried—and nothing seems to be moving.
We tend to think of waiting as the space between where we are and where we're supposed to be.
A delay.
An interruption.
Time we would rather skip.
But Scripture tells a very different story.
David was anointed king long before he sat on the throne.
Joseph carried a dream years before he understood what it meant.
Moses spent decades in the desert before God called him back to Egypt.
Again and again, God used the waiting.
Not as empty time.
As preparation.
Maybe the season you're in isn't keeping you from your purpose.
Maybe it's part of it.
📖 This Week's Scripture
“But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.”
Isaiah 40:31
A Small Story
Before David ever became king, he spent years doing something that probably didn't feel particularly important.
He watched sheep.
He had already been anointed. He knew God had called him for something greater.
And yet... he went back to the fields.
Day after day.
No throne.
No crown.
Just sheep.
But those quiet years weren't wasted.
In the fields, David learned courage.
He learned responsibility.
He learned to protect what had been entrusted to him.
He learned to worship God when no one was watching.
The shepherd was being prepared to become a king long before anyone could see it.
Sometimes what feels like waiting is actually where God does some of His deepest work.
A Gentle Reflection
Maybe you're waiting for an answer.
A new beginning.
An opportunity.
A relationship to change.
A door to open.
Or simply for life to make a little more sense.
It's easy to ask:
“God, when?”
This week, perhaps we can also ask:
“God, what are You teaching me here?”
Because the waiting room isn't necessarily outside your purpose.
It may be one of the places where your purpose is being prepared.
This Week's Piece
This week, we're drawn to St. Jude—the patron saint traditionally associated with difficult and seemingly impossible situations.
A St. Jude medal can be a quiet reminder to keep praying, keep hoping, and keep trusting when the answer hasn't arrived yet.
Sometimes faith is simply choosing not to give up while we wait.
Until next Sunday...
May you find peace in the season you're in, strength for the days that feel long, and trust that God is working even when you cannot yet see what He's doing.
With love,
