Small Acts. Eternal Purpose.

The Sunday Letter – August: Purpose cover featuring “Small Acts. Eternal Purpose.” in elegant gold and white typography on a deep navy background.

Dear Believer,

When we hear the word purpose, we tend to imagine something big.

A calling.

A mission.

Something important enough to change lives.

But what if some of the most meaningful things God asks us to do look completely ordinary?

A kind word when someone needs it.

A phone call you almost didn't make.

Helping someone without being asked.

Listening when it would be easier to walk away.

Praying for someone who may never know you did.

We spend so much time wondering what great purpose God has for our lives that sometimes we miss the purpose He has placed right in front of us today.

Because throughout Scripture, God repeatedly uses ordinary people, ordinary moments, and seemingly small acts to accomplish extraordinary things.

Maybe purpose isn't always about doing something remarkable.

Maybe it's about doing ordinary things with extraordinary love.

📖 This Week's Scripture

“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters.”

Colossians 3:23

A Small Story

There is a moment in the Gospel that could easily be overlooked.

Jesus sits near the temple treasury and watches people giving their offerings.

Many wealthy people give large amounts.

Then a poor widow approaches.

She places two tiny coins into the offering.

To everyone else, her gift probably looked insignificant.

But Jesus noticed.

He called His disciples and told them that she had given more than all the others—not because her gift was greater in value, but because of the heart behind it.

The world saw two small coins.

Jesus saw something extraordinary.

Maybe that's worth remembering.

God doesn't measure the significance of our actions the way the world does.

What feels small to us may carry far more meaning than we will ever know.

A Gentle Reflection

You may not change the whole world this week.

But you might change someone's day.

You might make someone feel seen.

You might offer encouragement at exactly the moment someone was ready to give up.

You might say a prayer that no one else ever hears.

And perhaps that's enough.

This week, instead of asking:

“What big thing am I supposed to do with my life?”

Try asking:

“What small thing can I do with great love today?”

Purpose may already be waiting there.

This Week's Piece

This week, choose a piece that carries meaning for you—a cross, a medal, or another symbol of faith that quietly reminds you that even the smallest moments can be lived with intention.

Because faith doesn't always need to be loud to make an impact.

Sometimes the quietest reminders stay with us the longest.

Until next Sunday...

May you notice the small opportunities God places in your path this week—and never underestimate what He can do through them.

With love,
