The Sunday Letter · October — Trust

“He has made everything beautiful in its time.” — Ecclesiastes 3:11

Dear Believer,

Have you ever prayed for something so deeply that you wondered why God was taking so long to answer?

Maybe it was a new opportunity. A relationship. A fresh start. A door you hoped would finally open.

You prayed. You waited. You tried to be patient.

And still, nothing seemed to change.

Sometimes, the hardest part of trusting God isn't accepting that He has a plan.

It's accepting that His plan may not follow our timeline.

We live in a world that encourages us to move faster, accomplish more, and expect immediate results.

But faith doesn't always move at the same speed as the world around us.

And perhaps that's where trust begins to grow.

When Waiting Feels Like Standing Still

In the Bible, Abraham and Sarah waited many years for the son God had promised them.

There were moments of doubt, impatience, and attempts to make things happen on their own.

But God's promise had not been forgotten.

It was simply unfolding in a way they could not yet understand.

Their story reminds us of something important:

A delay is not always a denial.

Of course, this doesn't mean that everything we ask for will happen eventually.

Sometimes the answer is different from what we imagined.

Sometimes a door remains closed.

But waiting does not mean that God has stopped listening.

What If the Waiting Is Part of the Journey?

We often think of waiting as the empty space between where we are and where we want to be.

But what if that space has a purpose of its own?

Perhaps there is something to learn.

Something to release.

Something within us that needs time to grow.

And sometimes, there may be no clear explanation at all.

Trusting God doesn't require us to pretend that waiting is easy.

It simply asks us to believe that our inability to see the whole picture does not mean God has lost sight of us.

You Can Keep Moving While You Wait

Trusting God's timing doesn't mean putting your entire life on hold.

You can keep learning.

Keep working.

Keep loving the people around you.

Keep taking the next faithful step.

You can make plans, pursue opportunities, and do your part without demanding that everything happen exactly when you want it to.

Because trusting God is not the same as doing nothing.

Sometimes faith means moving forward.

And sometimes it means accepting that one part of your story is still being written.

A Gentle Reminder for This Week

If you're waiting for something today, remember this:

Your life is not on hold just because one prayer remains unanswered.

There is still beauty in the ordinary moments.

There is still purpose in what you can do today.

And there is still room for hope, even when the future looks different from what you expected.

You don't have to understand God's timing to keep walking with Him.

You only have to take today's step.

A Prayer for the Week

Lord,

You know the things I am waiting for, the prayers I have whispered, and the hopes I carry quietly in my heart.

Help me be patient without losing hope.

Give me wisdom to recognize what I can do today and peace to release what I cannot control.

And when Your timing feels different from mine, remind me that I am never forgotten.

Amen.

Until next Sunday, may you find peace in the present, courage for the next step, and patience for the things that are still unfolding.

With love,
